History
REVOIL was founded in 1982 its main business being petroleum product trading. Springboard of this activity was the company’s fuel depot on the island of Chios.
1995 was a milestone regarding the development of the Company, it was the year that the Company was acquired by its current shareholders. With the acquisition of the Company in May 1995, the new shareholders set as their main objectives the Company’s growth in the market’s retail segment through the development of a petrol stations network, market share increase, the expansion and modernization of the fuel depot on the island of Chios, the reorganization and modernization of all administrative functions, as well as the improvement of the Company's financial KPI’S.
The "aggressive" policy of attracting new petrol stations in the highly competitive petroleum marketing sector, has proven to be particularly effective and since May 1995 the Company has developed a broad network of more than 520 Revoil petrol stations that extends throughout Greece, having a market share of more than 10.4% (May 2020). It is noted that the Company holds types A and F State licenses under which it engages in nationwide marketing of petroleum products, as well as a type E State license under which it engages in marine fuel sales.
Furthermore, the Company supplies over 200 independent petrol stations “ΑΠ” as well as heating diesel retailers.
In addition to the above, the Company is active in the lubricants market by offering a wide range of products bearing the “revolution” distinguishing sign (petrol, diesel engines, hydraulic systems, gears and agricultural machinery lubricants). It also markets special products with REVOIL’s quality guarantee.
In 1996 it was considered necessary to extend and modernize the facilities in Chios with project completion at the end of 1997.
In December 2000, the Company's headquarters were transferred to company owned facilities in Vari, Attica, where all of its administrative functions are housed.
The Company has, since 2002, implemented an Environmental Management System in compliance to the requirements of the international standard EN ISO 14001: 2004. REVOIL’s Environmental Management System has been certified by the independent certification body Eurocert (Certificate No 209/Π) for the procedures of delivery, storage and distribution of liquid fuels applicable to all company facilities (Chios & Aspropyrgos) and its headquarters. The certification of the Environmental Management System is proof of the Company's commitment to environmental protection, as well as the strong environmental awareness of its employees.
Today Chios’ facility has 12 liquid fuel storage tanks of 7.048m3 capacity, a state of the art tanker unloading dock and anchorage and an environmentally friendly tanker truck automatic loading system with a gasoline vapor recovery unit.
In addition to the above facility, the Company has acquired a second one in Aspropyrgos, Attica, with a capacity of 8.036m3, which serves its network of petrol stations in Southern Greece.
The of the Company’s management believes and invests in the human factor. Administrative reorganization has been completed, and the emphasis on constant training and briefing of the staff is an annual target. The company constantly invests in the continuous development, update and adoption of new technologies in improving the informatics of all its functions. The result of this reorganization has led to a new, flexible organizational scheme, strengthening vertical and horizontal communication focusing on teamwork.
